Common Gardenia Winter Fruits

Common Gardenia (Gardenia jasminoides, 栀子花).

Gardenias grow wild on parts of Yuelu mountains, what was curious to me is that every one of their spiky oval fruit had a beetle living in it: something I wish to investigate a little further.
